Exclusive to Hotdisc clients this is a list of the Top 40 Most Popular Songs released on the Hotdisc promotional album. DJs and media people submit their reaction sheets after rating every song on the album.
To prevent songs being in the chart for an unnecessary long time, and to put the focus on new material, a song is subject to ACR (Accelerated Chart Ratio) after 10 weeks on the survey. This puts a penalty on their average total week on week, making it harder to sustain a high chart position. This is standard practice and is used by the Official Charts Company who compile the Music Charts in Britain.
The chart is published weekly here, and also in Country Music People and Country Music & Dance magazines with the radio show syndicated across the world, and the new Hotdisc Top 20 TV programme released every Sunday at 2pm. You can watch previous TV programmes in HD on demand here.
The number to the right of the current chart position is last week’s position (LW) while WOC denotes the number of weeks a song has been on the chart.
To view the video for each song (or audio if no video is available) click on the video icon at the end of each row or on the song title or artist.
In the British & Irish chart section, an asterisk denotes a song which has been written by at least one British writer.
